Growing Community One Neighbour At A Time – Erb West
The Erb West Community Centre will be a place for community members to come together and build friendships, encourage belonging and celebrate the rich, diverse neighbourhood they live in. It will allow people to develop and foster ways that they can contribute in their community and feel proud of where they live and what they have to offer.
Grand River Conservation Foundation
Laurel Creek Nature Centre Discovery Room
Renovations to the Discovery Room at the Laurel Creek Nature Centre will increase the functionality and usability of the room itself. Animal care and display areas will be re-envisioned to create larger, healthier and more engaging habitats. The doors and windows will be replaced to allow nature to breathe through the building. Shading the outdoor deck will reconnect the indoor space to the outdoor space and create passive cooling for the building.
Greenway-Chaplin Community Centre
Growing Our Community Spaces
The construction of a portable recreation space and playground will enhance and expand the opportunities for inclusive and affordable recreation activities for children and youth in the Greenway Chaplin Community. It will be an accessible space to meet the growing demands of the community in which they serve.
KidsAbility Centre for Child Development
Connecting Cambridge – Stronger Together
KidsAbility is dedicated to bringing services as close to families as possible and providing a seamless, integrated service experience. By establishing a Cambridge hub, they can increase accessibility for families, support thier partners and advance excellence in service provision.
Outdoor Classroom, Sports Field and Trails at Lutherwood
Harmonizing mental health, physical health and education with the outdoors supports better outcomes and experiences for youth in our community. Through alternative learning environments that empower risk-taking and making choices using a new outdoor classroom, a restored sports field and an expanded forest trail the project will integrate learning, physical activity and mental wellness.
Waterloo Education Foundation (WRDSB)
Franklin Public School and Park Multisport Court
Their objective is to restore the multisport court (basketball, tennis, winter rink) at Franklin Public School and Park. This project will provide a highly utilized recreational space that will promote physical activity and social opportunities for children and youth in the community and at Franklin Public School.
Waterloo Region Catholic Schools Foundation (WRCDSB)
Healthy Living and Learning Community Hub
The Healthy Living and Learning Community Hub is a multi-phased community-driven project that is optimizing infrastructure at St. Benedict School and Idea Exchange Clemens Mills to create a multi-generational, year-round, fully accessible and functional centre that supports the needs and interests of children and youth and fosters relationship-building with their families and neighbours of all ages.
House of Friendship of Kitchener
Close to Home – Transforming Men’s Addiction Services
The renovation of 562 Concession Road, Cambridge will provide men’s addiction treatment in a healing place of greater dignity, with expanded programming and access, as a start to a journey of transforming the way addiction treatment is delivered in Waterloo Region. Along with offering residential services to men, day treatment and community programming services will be available to both men and women. The facility will include private, quiet meeting spaces for families, outdoor recreational space, and family counselling space.
Growing the Hub@1145
The expansion of the Langs facility will increase the number of partners on site at the provincially-recognized Hub@1145 that is currently co-located with 20 organizations. This means better and timelier access to essential services for families and children in Cambridge. The expansion will include a new community arts space for children, more group spaces and much needed additional parking.
